    TRANSAMERICA SQUARE SECURITY TIPS:
   

 

 
·         Keep purses, wallets or other valuables with you or locked in a drawer/closet at all times. 
                  Do not leave any valuables in a coat/jacket hanging on a chair/coat rack or in an open briefcase.
                        Do not let any of your associates or vendors remove anything from your office without prior approval form an authorized person.
 
 ·         Challenge all unfamiliar personnel you see in your work areas not wearing a photo ID or other vendor ID. 
                Immediately notify building security.

 ·         Get the names in advance of any persons working for a vendor or contractor who may perform work in your office.
 
 ·         Beware of "Piggybackers." "Piggybackers" are those without access to a secure work area who wait for and 
                follow directly behind authorized personnel into an area they are not permitted.

 ·         Solicitation is not permitted in the building.  A solicitor should be asked to leave the property, and if he/she refuses, reported immediately to the police department by calling “9-911”.  
            Report all solicitors to property management.

 ·         Never leave change/money on a desk or in an unlocked drawer but place in an envelope and put the 
            envelope in a drawer that can be locked.

 ·         Laptops should be secured in a locked drawer or file cabinet after normal business hours or while unattended.

 ·         Do not leave equipment; i.e., video equipment, TVs, VCRs, computers and printers out in the open. 
                Secure them in a locked closet or room.

 ·         As a precaution, record model and serial numbers of all valuables especially computers. 

 ·         Do not leave keys to filing cabinets or drawers in locks.  Report any missing office or other authorized keys to Property Management.
 
 ·         Do not leave personal items, including mail, in view in your vehicles. Lock items in the trunk.

 ·         Laptop Theft
- Bank of America employees should contact Business Continuity Information 
                Security (BCIS) at 1-800-207-2322, option 1 and/or the Security Operations Analysis 
                Control Center (SOACC) at 1-800-222-7511 to report the theft or missing laptop. 
                You must obtain the serial number to the laptop that you have reported as stolen or missing. 
                Please call local law enforcement to make a report of the stolen or missing laptop. 
                Provide law enforcement with the serial number.
                All other building tenants should contact building security to complete an incident report and also contact law inforcement.

Here's what's happening at Transamerica Square in September!
 
 
 
 
Transamerica Square will be closed for Labor Day!
 

Labor Day Parade will stage on Tryon Street next to the Hal Marshal Building beginning at 9am on Monday, September 1st for the 500 participants. The parade will follow the standard parade route beginning at 11am and follow Tryon to 3rd and left to Marshall Park for dispersing by 12:30pm. For information contact Kathryn at 704-888-0108

31st Annual Yiasou Greek Festival will be held on September 4th through 7th. The event will turn the streets adjacent to the church into one way avenues. Expect delays in the area. Please be careful to park legally if you are attending the festival. Go to www.yiasoufestival.org for more information.

Hog Jog 5K will be run at 8am on September 13th for the expected 300 runners. The course begins on Tryon Street within the Blues Brews and BBQ site and proceeds onto 11th, 10th, Central, 7th, Caldwell, and 9th back to Tryon. Call the Charlotte Sports Commission at 704-688-8520 for more information.

Blues Brews and BBQ will be held September 12th and 13th on North Tryon between 6th and 10th Streets. Tryon Street and the cross streets between College and Church will close Thursday evening at 6pm for setup. American Heart Walk will be held on September 20th in the uptown area and Wesley Heights neighborhood... The walk will begin and end at the square and use Trade, Graham, 4th, Walnut, Litaker, Summit, Frazier Park, Greenleaf, Cedar and Trade back to Founders Hall for the estimated 9,000 walkers. Here's what's happening in July
  
 

Porsche Parade of Charlotte will use several streets in uptown for the exhibition and judging on June 29th beginning around 6am. The streets affected will be MLK from Brevard to Tryon, Tryon from MLK to 6th, 3rd and 4th between Tryon and College and Trade between College and Church. Setup at the Trade/ Tryon square will begin Saturday at noon. ALL LOCAL ACCESS WILL BE MAINTAINED. Go to http://www.paradecharlotte.org/

Red White and Boom will begin about 9:30pm on July 4th at CPCC. The fallout zone for the fireworks is between Sam Ryburn and 4th and Kings and Torrence. There will be sponsored viewing areas throughout the center city with a family location at Memorial Stadium. The fireworks will not be visible from Tryon Street and points west with the best viewing and easiest parking on the east side of uptown. For information go to www.charlottecentercity.org

Hickory Grove 4th of July Parade will step off at 10:30am on Pence Road with 4000 participants. Email hickorygrove@bellsouth for details. Other neighborhood parades on a smaller scale include Coulwood, Cameron Woods, Deer Park and Thornhill.

24 Hours of Booty will begin at 7pm on July 27th and run until 7pm on the 28th for the expected 1000 participants. The loop consists of Queens, Selwyn, Queens Road West, Granville and Hopedale. For more information go to www.24hoursofbooty.com

Street Construction Items

All construction is weather permitting

East 5th Street between College Street and Brevard Street will close at 6pm on Friday, June 27 and reopen by 6am on Sunday, June 29. The detour will be right on 7th Street, right on Brevard Street, left back onto 5th Street. Contact Bob Staley at 704-432-1562 (bastaley@ci.charlotte.nc.us).

Colchester Place between Spring Valley Road and Desmond Place will close on Tuesday May 27 for approximately twenty-eight days. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour. Contact Agnes Alexander at 704-336-7308.

Linda Lake Drive between Lakeside Drive East and Robinson Church Road will close beginning, Wednesday, June 11 for twenty days. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour. Contact Agnes Alexander at 704-336-7308.

Just a friendly reminder to all associates:
 
When a medical or fire emergency occurs in the building....please contact security @ 704-388-3772 as well as dialing 911.  This will ensure that the property management team is prepared to assist emergency personnel immediately upon arrival to the building.  We can have elevators waiting and ready to escort the team to your floor and direct them to your area quickly. 
 
If you have any questions don't hesitate to call the property management office @ 704-388-8230 or ask your floor E-Rep about emergency training.
